How do I book an appointment?

To make an enquiry about a tattoo booking please email reference images to Info@lizclements.co.uk with rough size, placement of tattoo and a brief description of the design and I will send you a rough quote. Any questions are welcome but I don’t accept DM’s on social media as it is difficult to keep on top of admin when I am communicating across multiple platforms.

How accessible is your studio?

Valentines is an accessible studio, we have wide garage fronted doors and wide spacious bathroom facilities to accommodate wheelchair users. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need to discuss particular accessibility requirements prior to your appointment.

How private is the space?

We are an open plan studio of 6 artists. I have screens that can be put in place to ensure privacy if you are being tattooed in an intimate area or if you feel self conscious in any way. Any clothing that needs to be removed will be pre discussed before we start the tattoo, and feel free to let me know if there’s anything I can do prior to the appointment to help you feel at ease. Needless to say all skin types and body shapes are welcome!

What are your rates?

My hourly rate is £110 and my day rate is £550. I accept cash or PayPal and my working hours are 11am-6pm Wednesday-Saturday. Some designs are charged by the piece, this will be discussed and agreed prior to the appointment. I take a deposit which is non refundable, but I am happy to reschedule an appointment and honour the deposit providing I am given 1 weeks notice prior to the booking.

Can I book a consultation prior to making an appointment?

If you would like to talk face to face prior to booking I do consultations at 10:30am Wed-Sat. This is helpful if you are thinking of starting a large scale project, or if you simply find it easier to communicate one to one. Email Info@lizclements.co.uk to book yourself in for a consultation.

Do you send design proofs?

I do not email out designs prior to appointments. Unfortunately I don’t have time to send designs back and forth for each and every client and things become lost in translation over email that can be more easily communicated face to face. There will be plenty of time at your appointment to go over the design and make any edits you require and we won’t start the tattoo until you are happy with it.

Do you have a waiting list?

I don’t have a waiting list but I’m generally booked up roughly 6 weeks in advance. My books are always open and I generally respond to emails within 48 hours.

Can I use numbing cream?

I have found numbing agents to be problematic so the short answer is no! More often than not the creams are ineffective and can actually worsen the pain and discomfort of being tattooed. The skin becomes harder to tattoo so the process takes longer and in extreme circumstances the chemicals in the cream can cause blistering and scarring to the skin. If you are particularly anxious about the pain of getting tattooed let me know beforehand, I hate getting tattooed myself so I have plenty of handy tips on how to manage the pain!

What is your cancellation policy?

Deposits are non-refundable but I am happy to reschedule an appointment and honour the deposit providing I am given 1 weeks notice prior to the booking.

Do you re touch other peoples work?

I’m happy to re work other peoples tattoos, the best thing to do is email a photo of the existing tattoo and the reason you don’t want to/can’t have the tattoo finished by the original artist and I can let you know if I can help!

Do you do cover ups?

Yes I do! Email a photo of the existing piece to Info@lizclements.co.uk or arrange a consultation and I can let you know your options.

Can I bring a friend to my appointment?

We don’t have the space to accommodate friends or family members unfortunately, however if you need to bring a care/support worker with you to your appointment please let me know beforehand so we can accommodate you both.

Are your tattoo inks vegan?

Yes they are, I use Fusion and Eternal tattoo ink which are both free from animal by-products.

Will my colour tattoos fade?

Sun damage over time is the biggest factor in fading colour tattoos. If you frequently spend time on sun beds or in the sun the colour in your tattoos may fade or change over time. I use factor 50+ to protect my tattoos in the Summer, also regularly moisturising and exfoliating your skin will help to keep your tattoos looking fresh. Essentially the better you look after your skin, the better your tattoos will look.

Aftercare

I recommend either Palmers Cocoa Butter or Coconut Oil as Tattoo aftercare solutions. You will be given a Tattoo aftercare sheet after your appointment to explain everything you need to know.
